The Greening of Wales

The colonisation of the land by plants was an event which transformed our planet with consequences for terrestrial animals, soils and atmosphere. The lecture will show how the Ordovician to Lower Devonian rocks of Wales and the Welsh Borderland are globally important in providing an excellent 60 million year history of the plants and animals involved in the early phases of land colonisation.
