Artistiaid Ifainc Cymru (AIC)
Ym mis Tachwedd 2020, bydd Amgueddfa Celf Fodern, Machynlleth yn lansio Artistiaid Ifainc Cymru, arddangosfa flynyddol a fydd yn arddangos gwaith artistiaid o dan 30 oed sy’n gweithio yng Nghymru. Nod yr arddangosfa yw cyflwyno artistiaid o bob rhan o Gymru i’w gilydd a darparu llwyfan i artistiaid ar ddechrau eu gyrfa arddangos eu gwaith y tu hwnt i leoliad ysgol/coleg celf ym MOMA Machynlleth, sy’n gartref i gasgliad o waith o fri rhyngwladol gan artistiaid sy’n gweithio yng Nghymru ers 1900. Mae MOMA wedi gwahodd dau guradur sy’n dod i’r amlwg, Mari Elin Jones a Lloyd Roderick i ddatblygu a llwyfannu’r arddangosfa agoriadol.

Young Welsh Artists (YWA)
In November 2020, Museum of Modern Art, Machynlleth launches Young Welsh Artists, an annual exhibition showcasing the work of artists under the age of 30 working in Wales. The exhibition aims to introduce artists from across Wales to one another and provide a platform for early-career artists to exhibit their work beyond an art school/college setting at MOMA Machynlleth, home to a collection of international renown of work by artists working in Wales since 1900. MOMA has invited two emerging curators, Mari Elin Jones and Lloyd Roderick to develop and stage the inaugural exhibition.

Mae Mari Elin Jones yn guradur, artist ac awdur sy’n ymddiddori ym mhob agwedd o ddiwylliant Cymreig a’r amgylchedd. Mae wedi gweithio fel curadur yn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru ers 2013 ac wedi bod yn allweddol wrth lwyfannu rhai o’r prif arddangosfeydd, gan gynnwys Distillation (Shani Rhys James, 2015), Ffocws Cymreig ar Ryfel a Heddwch (Philip Jones Griffiths, 2015), Mametz (Aled Rhys Hughes, 2016) a Kyffin Williams: Tu Ôl i’r Ffrâm (2018).

Mari Elin Jones is a curator, artist and author interested in all aspects of Welsh culture and the environment. She has worked as a curator at The National Library of Wales since 2013 and has been key in staging MAIN exhibitions such as Distillation (Shani Rhys James, 2015), A Welsh Focus on War and Peace (Philip Jones Griffiths, 2015), Mametz (Aled Rhys Hughes, 2016) and Kyffin Williams: Behind the Frame (2018).

Mae Lloyd Roderick yn ymchwilydd a churadur sydd â diddordeb yn niwylliant gweledol Cymru. Mae wedi’i gyhoeddi yn O’r Pedwar Gwynt ac Art Libraries Journal. Curadurodd ei arddangosfa gyntaf, Ailymweld â Chymru a’r Mudiadau Modern a edrychodd ar arfer modernaidd yng Nghymru yn yr 20fed ganrif yn yr Ysgol Gelf, Aberystwyth yn haf 2019.

Lloyd Roderick is a researcher and curator interested in the visual culture of Wales. He has published in O’r Pedwar Gwynt and Art Libraries Journal. He curated his first exhibition, Wales and the Modern Movements Revisited which looked at modernist practice in Wales in the 20th century at the School of Art, Aberystwyth in summer 2019.
