MOMA and The Tabernacle are located in the centre of Machynlleth, a historic market town in mid-Wales. The area is popular with visitors and offers a variety of other attractions including the Centre for Alternative Technology, The Dyfi Osprey Project, and The Owain Glyndwr Centre.

Getting to Us

By Car
MOMA and The Tabernacle are located on one of the main roads running through Machynlleth, Heol Penrallt (A487), just a short distance from Machynlleth’s famous clock tower. Our nearest parking is the public car park located on Heol Maengwyn (A489) the turning for which is a short distance along the road on the right-hand side, travelling away from the clock tower. Free on road parking is also available around Machynlleth, however please make sure that you check time restrictions relating to these spaces.

By Train
Machynlleth is on the Cambrian main line route across Mid-Wales with services every two hours to and from Aberystwyth and to and from Shrewsbury linking with Birmingham and London Euston. Three services on Sundays. From Machynlleth the Cambrian Coaster also runs up the coast to Pwllheli, seven times daily and once on Sundays.

If you arrive by train, please turn left out of the station road onto the main road. We are then a short 5-minute walk along the road towards the clock tower on your left-hand side.

By Bus
Machynlleth is served by a network of local bus services operating between Bangor, Aberystwyth, Tywyn and Newtown. For more information and to check timetables please visit www.lloydscoaches.com/timetables

Accessibility

MOMA and The Tabernacle are fully accessible to wheel chair users. The Ruralist Room is accessed from street level on Heol Penrallt. Our other galleries and café are accessed via the main courtyard. The main entrance is located on the left-hand side of the courtyard. Once you are inside the building, the café is immediately on the right, and a lift is located within the café, going up to the first-floor galleries and Tannery galleries. A blue badge car parking space is available at the back of the centre by contacting us in advance of your visit on 01654 703355.

Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcomed in all areas of MOMA and The Tabernacle. Please let a member of staff know if your dog would like drinking water during your visit.

We provide a range of interpretation materials including labels, text panels and concert programmes, available in Welsh and English. Please ask a member of staff if you would like any print materials provided in large text.
